tin top wiper

I have noticed some while back that the driver's side wiper is failing to sweep rain towards the right hand side of the screen and discovered it is because the spindle to which the arm attaches is flexing i..e the spindle movement means that spring tension on the blade is less.

Has anyone attacked the driver's side wiper spindle on a volvo 850?

What has caused the spindle to move?

It looks like access is by removing trim and the fuse box inside the engine bay - anyone know for sure?

Are you sure that it's not the pivot on the wiper arm seizing up, stopping full spring pressure from being applied? I've had this before, particularly on rear wipers....

no, certain it is not; I've got the seizing pivot at the rear, thank you very much; wipers don;t seem to be a volvo strong point.

defo can see thew whole thing "wobble" as the blade goes round.
