Very cool.
I don't know, but it looks very much like a product we use at work on high end office partitions.
It's a partition system where the glass is completely clear under normal conditions, but when you put a voltage across it, it goes opaque.
Looks really good in situ and high powered execs spend loads of time just throwing the switch. Not cheap mind you
Something like this:-

I have a sample somewhere, might have to look at a new plate for mine

Very cool indeed.
Don't happen to have a spare sample kicking about do you Mike?
What brand names should I look out for?
I think perspecs (sp?) as the front and back plates would be easier to use.
I recon we may have a few legality issues with it, or it would at least be difficult to explain any other use for it but I like it!

Not practical for this aplication but I find it fascinating, makes me want to be a scientist when I grow up!

I would imagine it uses the same technology as my auto dim rear view mirror. Apply power and it darkens, remove power and it returns to normal.
Nice idea but it might take a bit of explaining to Mr Plod though.
Cheers,
Raz
