High Praise for the NHS
A huge "BIG-UP" to the NHS from me and the wife. You hear so much bad press about them we thought it was time to sing praise where
it's due.
One of our 6 week old twins is pretty poorly at the moment and has been in Winchester hospital for nealry a week now. With the other twin and a 2
year old to look after it's been a testing time for all of us.
Without exception, every member of staff at the hospital has been amazing. They cannot do enough to help us get through it, ranging from playing with
the 2 yr old while we feed the twins, to 2 nurses feeding the twins while one of us sleeps and the other plays with the 2 yr old. They have made us
cups of tea and toast, cheered us up, made us laugh and taken some of the load. The doctors have been honest with us at every turn and made sure we
both know exactly whats going on all the time.
I for one couldn't argue with paying any of them more money for the hours they work and jobs they do.
For once I'm pleased, happy and proud to be British and live in this country

i've only really spent 4 nights in hospital about 4 years ago.
yes, i have to say the place was quite dirty like air vents caked in dust (huge clumps of dust started falling off when i was there, but the
cleaners apparently aren't allowed to touch them incase the vents fall out)
that aside, the doctors and nurses there were fantastic. always up for a laugh and a joke.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

If you've got an ingrowing toe nail that's a bit hurty the NHS is rubbish - if you're seriously ill they are actually excellent 99%
of the time in my experience and you wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
It's various governments fault they haven't got decent cleaners any more not the medical staff

TBH - I dont use the NHS much but dont mind paying for when I will... the press really make a meal of anything bad and blow it out of all proportion.
All the negative attention demoralises the workforce and make the situation worse, not better.
It's a shame that predominantly the British Media behave in this way. As a protest I stopped buying Newspapers years ago, never bought one since
and I dont miss them.
Hope all goes well Nick205...

On the plus side, the local minor injuries clinic is excellent. On the minus side, botched spinal operation on my mother in law, staff not feeding her
after she had had a hand op and couldn't feed herself, and MRSA
