Coozer's done his licence and started driving quite recently I think. He's on here a fair bit, have a search of his posts - I
haven't seen him for a fair old while, so I must have read on here what he's been up to
Cheers

Yep, new class C here, I am driving 26T fridges for Coop, and working as an engineer for Nissan. Nissan are getting the middle finger in two weeks
time..
I also have an ADR cert so next is C+E so I have the full trumps to try and get on the tankers. I'm planning on doing my test in August.
At the moment I'm using an agency for the Coop just to get some experience. I have my application in there as well so if they offer me
I'll be very happy
What exactly do you need to know ant?

America, whos coming out to join me, such a better way of life, i did 12650 miles last month and didn't see a single accident, traffic jam, or
hold up anywhere, just set the cruse at 70+ and go .

been driving artics for 21 years now, theres some good jobs about but a lot of proper shitty ones, most good firms wont touch you without experience
so you need to follow coozers example and use an agency to get some, also helps if you like getting up at 3am and not knowing what time your gonna get
home !!... suppose it beats flipping burgers though

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

i'm not sure, on the harvest you don't need a medical to get your CDL (HGV), so in that case i would say yes, and if you do need a medical
and have something like that,i would say either don't tell them, or tell them and they will give you a short term medical card, do you have to
have the injections, i know when i went for my medical i could have told them anything, they don't check up with the uk, i don't have a
doctor back in the uk anyway, but they just asked questions and i answered, took 30 mins, so at a guess i would say yes you could
you will know more about it than me but here is a link to give you an idea, if it looks like you can then i'll point you in the right direction,
the only way in to do it is basicly the harvest season as a truck driver, but at least its a way in to do proper trucking, and all your earnings are
TAX FREE

I know when I did my taxi licence I had a diabetes test but that was more so I'd know and be able to do something about it rather than find out
once you've gone into a coma.
So what's the US trucker's payslip like? Worth us going over?

So what's the US trucker's payslip like? Worth us going over? [/quwell i'm earning $2500 minimum tax free, if your on the harvest
crew you get salary $2500 in your pocket tax free (legal tax free not some dodgy cash in hand stuff)the harvest company has to house you and feed you,
and they have to pay for your flights, they normally get you to buy your own flight and give half the money back mid season, then the rest when you
come home, that way you don't pull a fast one for free flights, a CDL (same as our HGV) cost $60 for the theory and the on the road bit, the on
the road bit is only $5 so if you fail it doesn't break the bank, your medical for your CDL is $60 but harvest crews don't need it, i had
to get it because i'm on long distance and the cops said even though my visa covers me for the over the road i'm doing, i need a medical (
as he gave me a nice $167 ticket (company paid it)) it you had HGV experience its better but if you haven't it doesn't really matter, as
i'm on the road i earn about $3000+ because i get 20% of the load, but if for what ever reason i don't earn the $2500 i still get it, at
the moment i'm doing about 12000 miles a month, sounds a lot but its very easy and all legal.
