302 V8
what is the best way to get hold of a 302 ford v8 and suitable gear box,
is it to buy a crappy mustang(locost style), or is better to go through a yank car breakers or somthing.
Its for my capri(mk1)

unfortunatley i am not in a position to buy at the moment. if circumstances were different for me i would have bitten your hand off. i was asking
with the future in mind. sorry
thanks though a chevy and T5 would have been been awsome

How does the Chevy compare in size to a Rover V8? I assume it's the 350ci?
I'm guessing it's bigger and heavier...

Asking price is £1500 for the lot, (bellhousing was over £300) not bad for 500hp.
engine is a lot heavier than a rover and consiberaly bigger, but then the rover is a small package.

but you probably wouldnt need the gearbox in a locost coz with that amount of torque you would never need to change gear

Now *that's* cheap horsepower!
Is that a reliable, streetable engine? Supercharged?
