Freezing weather conspiracy theory
You can't beat a bit of good old fashioned conspiracy theory.
Here's one that's a bit topical.
In short.
BP oil spill in Gulf of Mexico stops Gulf stream.
UK gets baltic winter as a result.
I'm not saying I support the theory or otherwise.
Listen to this, see what you think.

But if you listen to the interview, he talks about films, graphics and quotes other people, but doesnt have any actual explanation. Also, im puzzled
as to the relevance of his military background at the beginning!
I dont have a view either way just yet, but a conspiracy theory should really at least attempt to provide some backup!!
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

a colossal pile of nonsense, and i didnt even watch it! How could a minor (relatively) oil spill even affect any ocean current? Plus, wouldnt someone
have noticed?

I remember the winter of 1978 being bad. I was working at a local foundry and a couple of us were walking to work over 8' snow drifts.
Don't know what we would have done if we'd gone through
yours, Pete
I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I think the story is a load of BS, but that said I have never read of or experienced temperatures as low as are predicted for Liverpool on the 30th...
ok 14 day forecasts can be WHAAAAYYYYY wrong, but -22c...
I hate to think what it might be in the more exposed regions!

Here's two for you.
When winter comes round those responsible for making sure things still work when there's 2 inches of snow do nothing, further perpetuating the
"Britain is cr@p at everything" idea (not seen a gritter since the ice really hit....)
If this whole gulf stream thing is true, they created it so we use more fuel to warm our houses and such, seeing as we don't like to freeze.
Added to the fact that they're going to have to put prices up to further line their pockets, I mean recoup their losses

Pah! You lot would say that. You're all in it together.......
Even if the whole 'spilly oil, upskittle the Gulf Stream' thing is whatever it is folks are saying/not saying, there was absolutely no
need to use poor seabirds to mop up the oil. There are machines and devices, detergents and oil dispersal chemicals to do that.

It's a rubbish theory, everyone knows oil is good for lubricating things so if anything it should speed up the stream If it had been fully
synthetic instead of crude it would be like the Sahara over here...

Good point! Also, as all the fish are now dead they and won't be swimmimg about in the way of the Gulf stream so it will go quicker.
This is scientifically proven - well, my bath didn't empty as fast with a mackerel in the plug hole anyway, which is good enough for me!
