New V5C

Received this a.m. - replacement reg doc for my donor vee-hickle. Seems to be some kind of docs update to conform with EU norms (Directive 1999/37/ED).

Presume this to be result of renewing SORN!

Section 9 of the Guidance notes states that -
"If you sell or p/ex your vehicle to a Motor Trader ..... you MUST complete Section 9.."
For "Motor Trader" read Scrapper.
You have to provide date of sale/transfer, name & address of scrapper, and get his sig!!
So what happens if this was in the past, and all you have is a moby no. for sais scrapper??

V5C - Disposal

Maybe best to follow Guidance notes re Section 8. This deals with dismantling and disposal of the donor by the regd. keeper.

Anybody been thru the process using this new doc.??

Took my son's old heap of junk down to the local scrappies last weekend. The man just rubber-stamped the bottom bit (red) with their name, address and VAT number, gave it to me and that was it. Pretty simple. As far as we're concerned, we are selling the car to a dealer - it's their job to declare it as scrapped/dismantled.

Didn't like having to pay them money to take it, though...

Tim,

Don't be silly, the a12 is a bit far for James, the a3 is better
