- and after 42 years still as much in love as ever (the car was written off in 1972 but many happy memories and the bonnet mascot is still going strong - hopefully only time will write her off)

Well it's arrived - now the design work starts - what length runners to use, plenum design, independant or shared throttle bodies, type and size of injectors, what ECU to use, what finish to give it, etc etc.

Looking forward to the process - will start a new thread about process in about two months time when work has eased off and I have more time.

Here are some pictures. Well chuffed with my new acquisition. - and discovered there's no duty on engine parts so much cheaper than I thought.

Nice new shiny bits - but what does the 'bonnet mascot' have to say about opening them on her nice dining table?

She's the best and wouldn't even comment until she couldn't find somewhere to put her plate at supper time, or was expecting guests, she grew up with me working on cars and was my navigator in rallies and my assistant mechanic when working on my cars at 16. She assembled the original motor for my Cobra and helped me build it 20 odd years ago. Also the best spinnaker trimmer of all the crew I had over the years on my trapeze dinghy when I was racing (we won the national championships at the time) - when she was crewing we were unbeatable on a reach but her light weight counted against us on the beat so with the South Easter in Cape Town I didn't normally use her as crew in regattas (much to her relief because she hated sailing - especially in strong winds). She's an absolute gem & I know it.
