Gran Turismo 4
First the bad news, it's been delayed until Q1 of 2005.
The good news is that according to THIS list the Caterham 7 and Super 7 is in it, AND the
Ultima GTR!!
Some nice looking older cars are there like the 60s Lotus formula one cars and the newer Suzuki GSX-R 4 Concept ‘01 (cool wee hayabusa BEC).
I don't know how reliable that car list is, but I've been dying to see a '7' in Gran Turismo, and I can't wait to learn
the Nurburgring!
I'm very keen on heading over this summer for a crack at it!
Roll on the new year!!
All the best
Ali

Anyone tried "JUICED"?
Think it's much better than NFSU2.

BURN THE HEATHEN, BURN HIM!!!!!

God no, I loved it for that reason! I remember the first time I played GT1, I knew this was the game. Loved it. GT2 was magic - all those extra
cars and the only reason I got a PS2 was for GT3.
I can't wait - I've never come across another driving game that's anywhere near as good. Currently I'm playing NetKar and
trying to learn the Nurburgring in a Mini Cooper. I've even got a logitech Driving force pro steering wheel - it's pretty good I have to
admit.

Sucks that it's delayed. I have GT4 Prologue which is quite fun and the new physics engine is great.
I wanna learn the lay of the 'ring before i go for real too

The hot game for physics and online racing is supposed to be Nascar 2003 (N2003). There's a bunch of mods for it (transam, iroc, ferrari 330,
trucks, etc). Track developers have added an amazing number of tracks, including the old N'ring and Spa, and more are added every day. Online
racing is wild, with fields of 30 or more and plenty of leagues.
No 7s mod yet. Nascar Heat had a 7s mod, tried it, didn't much like it.

Check out http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/
It's common knowledge although the track is only open to the public on weekends usually.
It's specifically against the rules on public days to race as you put it, and they frown upon filming now too (in-car/bike). It's
officially considered as a 1 way derestricted toll road.
Looks like an amazing place though.

they never put a hot 7 in games tho - a friend had project gotham, it had the classic 7 only
perhaps the superlight R / R400 / R500 / JPE would embarrass other much more expensive machinery - do you think some manufacturers pay to have their
cars on these games (and a little under the table for better performance)?
not keen on the massive list of Lancer Evos and Skylines tho, don't see the point of more than one of each model.
if you don't fail, you aren't trying hard enough.

Ooh, I'll have to get the demo tonight and have a look. Toca Race Driver 2 is pretty good fun too.
The limited grid size in GT3/4 is a bit annoying but it's simply limited by the power of the machine. I think it'd rather have a solid
60fps rather than 12 or more cars on the grid.
The PS3 should open the door for much bigger grids.
Nothing else can come close in terms of choice of cars. I find racing ordinary cars more fun than the racers.

No the delay affects everywhere, Japan, USA and Europe. Japan will see the game first in 2005 however, then USA, then Europe. AFAIK.

Something analogue, a normal digital joypad, keyboard etc can only take on/off steering signals, it can't really get close to steering a car. A
PS 2 Dualshock analogue pads isn't too bad, but a good force feedback steering wheel is hard to beat - thre reason I got the Logitech is because
it can work with botht he PS2 and my PC. And it got pretty good reviews/reputation.
Oh btw mackie thanks for the Nurburgring.org.uk link. I'm seriously considering a trip next summer - I've spent time in Germany before
and I LOVE their beer, I'd love to get back and drive the Nordschliefe in Lucy.

Looks like petrolhead heaven to me, and that Ben Lovejoy chap doesn't seem to skimp on beer either
He must spend a scary amount of money making so many trips.
I want to go in the spring/summer next year too, we could maybe arrange a convoy of people from here any some other people I vaguely know who are
intending to go over in their own cars. I certainly wouldn't want to drive all that way in a seven unsupported.

Yo alister, if ur thinkin of a road trip, let me know
I've been at a standstill now for the last 4 months, waiting on Bill! Driving me crazy!
Altho apparently he'll get my stuff by sunday
Is there anyway to fit the scuttle and nose without the bonnet?

Jay - I'd recommend waiting on the bonnetto make sure you get the whole show to line up right. I read about that method on MK9r's website
(I think?) and I can't think of any other way to do it neatly.
Bill, bless him, operates in his own special timezone!
There's a mate of mine (Brian - locost blade) was wanting to go to the Nordschliefe, if we did it we'd prob have 4-5 from N. Ireland
making the run.
I don't fancy driving the cars all that way either - thrashing them for 2 days round a notorious track then driving home again. We might see
about flying over and transporting the cars or something - We'll have to do some investigating into this.

no none of you play GPL (Grand Prix Ledgends) witch has one of the most realistic pyisics engin in a game ever. it is not a game you can jus get in
and drive you need to learn a lot befor you can start to get good laps.
allthough I like gt I think it is to easy but I gues it needs that for the brord marke apeal.
I am looking forward to geting simbian GTR witch has an ausem phisics engin and good graphics acording to the pree reviews.
thers is also a good open sorce driving simulator avalebel with lots of cars and tracks I will have to dig out a link it's phisics engin puses
GPL some what and has a fuly anologe clutch control and ny number of in car verioble devices i.e. break balence rar roll bar stiffnes. also as it is
open sourrce you can modle any car in it, if you have the time.
