New tin-top tyres?
Morning all,
I need to get a couple of new tyres for the front of the girlfreinds tin top, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend any decent ones? I think
the task has fallen to me, as I get the blame for wearing the current ones out by driving round corners quickly!
It's for a Skoda Fabia Vrs, 16 inch wheels, the current tyres are Michelin Pilot primacy 205/45R16, and have lasted for around 25K miles.
Pretty good grip too, but I don't have anything to compare them against.
I'm open to suggestions anyway!

believe i'm right in saying that the more you pay the longer the tyres last. having said that i got through a set of michelins in about 12,000
miles! i've used yoko s306's, michelin energy and currently got kumho's on. michelin and yoko's were better in the wet, that
said kumho's have a lot more power trying to be put down through then
lots of people seem to praise the toyo's for value for money, though i've no direct experience..

I've got dunlop sp sport 01 on my car theyre good, got to really push it to lose grip, and last quite well too.

Pirelli P-Zero Rosso's went well on a Civic Type R - Far grippier and longer lasting than the OE Bridgestones were (lasted 9000 miles !)
Also tried Goodyear F1 GSD3's - High grip but also high wear and bad road noise..

I can recommend bridgestone SO3's which I have on my daily drive peugeot and Uniroyal Rainsport 1's which I put in the girlfriends car
Honda CRX SiR. Toyo Proxy T1S are also a good tyre which I had previously on the Pug.
The uniroyals have excellent grip in the wet and dry and give a nice feel when pressing on in the honda.
The SO3's are great just grip and lots of it, rain or dry and they will put down 160 bhp at the wheels reasonably well in the pug.
The proxies were good in the dry, but not so good in the wet on the pug.
You get what you pay for.

Toyo T1-R or Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s. My dad's had both of these on his Impreza. F1s slightly better in the wet, Toyos cheaper.
