PPC Mag - con?

Ok I’m in the newsagents perusing the top shelf for big boobs monthly but they don't have it so onto the car mags. AHA!! PPC magazine, ok lets have a look......"Zetec Anglia - How to run a Zetec engine using a standard Mondeo ECU" Fantastic, an article on how to use a std ecu, great I’ll buy it.

I get home, put the kettle on and sit down for an in depth blow by blow account on how to achieve what many say can't be done. Get to the good bit and find that there’s no information about how to do this. All you get is sentences like "I used all the standard Ford relays and the Mondeo's engine loom and spliced the whole lot into the Anglia, says Dave"

Not quite what I expected and I now feel let down but a mag I really thought was good. Ok it is damn good but this does pee me off a tad when you think you are getting something and don't......ok rant over.

Anyone else had the same?

You mean you bought it without reading it first

It would be good to know exactly how to do that though, although knowing it can be done is half the battle eh?

Cheers

Donut,

Thank god it didnt explain is my take on this.

Best thing to do with a ford zetec ecu is use it test big hammers!!!

First - procure some bike throttle bodies
second - procure a megasquirt
third - check my archive - I will be doing this soon.

I have the engine in, the throttle bodies, the inlet manifold all the necessary...

Hell - I'll even post up some basic maps

Cheers,

M

Zetec with standard ECU is possible - seen it done, but not done it myself. Doesn't look too hard tbh as long as it's the early type, not the later one with the security system.

Megasquirt however is a totally different story. Easy peasy to wire up, far more flexible, and can find another 15bhp from the standard 2.0 just from mapping it nicely.

Hi

PPC have a forum

http://www.ppcmag.co.uk/forum/default.asp

Might be worth asking them to explain the conversion?
