'The other group' never changes
Apparently, according to the other group, we all talk crap, post totally incorrect stuff and our pictures make us look like sad blokes.
It has made me realise why i am rarely on there now. Too many stupid little --------- (fill in your own word) that just want an argument.
There are just over 4k posts on here now. Apart from the 16kw wind up, i dont recall anyone getting upset, personal or pre-menstral.
Look back over the last 4k posts on TOL (and at the current rate thats 8 months posts since the group self imploded) and there will be several riots
and similar.
1250 members, and hardly anyone posts cos they will get flamed if they do.
Its nice to be home with your mates.

Yes - that poster was out of order (and wrong - I've seen no more rubbish spoken here than elsewhere). But have you noticed how most people on that
list now keep quiet when a row is threatening? Many posts that would spark a riot now fizzle out due to lack of support. They're learning!
Mind you, Daren's post could be read as a trouble-maker's trawl, even though we know him to be a nice guy who wouldn't think of stirring the soft
and smelly stuff!

I'm not a member of the other list, I don't like the format or the adverts that keep popping up. I'm sure it has it's merits and mostly decent
folk but I prefer this list. I like my sad picture and its good to see what other folk look like too, makes it more personnel and friendly.
You got my curiousity though and I had a look, Dave Beddows, what a solid bloke, and his techinically accurate way of finding an exhaust. Wow! I just
don't deserve to be in his presence. Off to write some 'simply wrong' information on modifying steering racks.

The arguments don't happen because the catalyst was removed - Me!
I'm overburdened with what might be called"refreshing honesty" To be blunt I am blunt. I speak as I find. I couldn't keep quiet when the man who
mail bombed the group was immediately made a moderator. I was on the list for over three years, and never once posted abuse or slagged anyone off even
when Wally pulled his little trick. No one seems to mind when certain Antipodean members post non-sensical one word posts. Clique is the only way to
describe it.

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

I was dismissive and critical of this list at first, but here I am in the top ten posters list, and now an owner of serious military arsenal.

I don't feel so bad when somebody like Peter says this - he's just stamping on something that is likely to drag on and on with no sensible
resolution.
He's just saying "stop it", unlike previous moderators who just got irrational and silly - or even joined in and perpetuated the arguing.

Well I've said my bit on the other list. I think it will go down as well as a pork chop at a jewish wedding reception but what the hell, Stevie G
liked it. Oh and I also praised Chris W for setting this site up, so that would have burst a few blood vessels as well. Ho Hum

Well, you notice I agreed with you in an email, and not on TOL cos im sure that would lead to a riot or banning.
I have a degree of sympathy with Peter. I think he could have worded things better, but he also didnt say anything bad about this list - so we should
be able to get on fine on both lists.
However, its very indicative of TOL that Peter needs to post stuff like that.

The fundemental difference between the communities and why they work in there own way is because TOL is setup as a sharing of information, like the
schools homework website, you post a question and people can reply, probably why any humour has not gone down to well with some of the members. This
site has adopted the sharing of ideas, more of a brain storming session, due mainly to the lack of support on TOL. The humour, although largely off
topic, does raise a laugh or two. This is possible on this list because it doesn't fill the messages page on TOL or swamp emails with every post,
downside is that if you look at this list on different PC's, as I do, it is easy to miss some posts unless you look carefully.

Nah, don't race 2 stroke gearbox Karts so I have very normal sized testicles thanks. I take it that this list is trying to become the home for an
crack team of the most notorious 'flamers' in the Locost world then I'm not sure I'm quite as bitter as a few of you but I do have a good line
in not suffering fools if that's any help
Oh, and I do my best to help people if I can too - so will be posting something regarding building your 1st Formula Locost engine soon to clear up all
the 'wrong' stuff

Thats the best pi I have seen so far and i REALLY would love to be able to beat it Chris.
But im laffing to much to think about it.

as of 8.30pm tonight, TOL seems to be shagged
Perhaps its all handbags right now? or someone spilt coffee all over the disk drive somwhere in the USA. When it comes down to it, its all just a few
megabytes on a disk, and oh so much problems!

I thonk the probl;em wiy the other list is quite simpley Leprosy. When peoples fingerers are falling off they can't really typr a decent post
wiithout being consmed by the fear of body parts falling odff and the lonliness of the condition.
Unfortunaely ,y own leprosy is getiting to the stage where I can't take part in either the email; based or the web based discussion.
So I will go top bed and see if its better in the morning.
