Help the aged
Hi,
Hopefully someone out there can help.
One of my poor beloved Bluebirds is in desperate need of a new gearbox. Its a 1990 1600 manual (the weakest box of them all) and its the only thing
wrong with the car. Has anyone come across a good reliable trustworthy gearbox company that could get me a replacement. My stereo can no longer drown
out the racket and I'm getting a bit fed up of crunching thought the gears.
Please help!

hmm,
I'd really rather get a new one, the 1600 gearbox is a bit of a basket case, I'd even have considererd changing over the whole engine and
gearbox for a 1800 or 2000 but I have really looked after the engine very well (oil change every 3K from new) so I'm reluctant to loss that. Its
also a big job to swap it outside in the dark(my garage is full) so I was going to get a garage to change it for me when I get the timing belt
replaced. Not cheap to do twice if its a duffer.
Thanks anyway for the advise.

Thanks but I have an engine crane myself though it is very heavy.
I don't mind spending money on them even though they’re worth about £250. Why? Cos I love them to bits! You know, over the years I've had
loads of cars that were suppose to be their replacements but then thought to myself this is s$%t!! compared to my bluey b&$$£R this!, so then I
just sold the replacements!!
It’s a mad car thing...certifiable...
