Autosport 2008

What's it like?

I've never been to one and am thinking of going and taking my 12 year old bro-in-law.

Suitable or mad and hectic?

Its a great show, the Live Action Arena event is excellent..

I've been 3 times, and it started to feel the same each year, with not much changing interms of content.

Well worth the first visit

beware of young ladies wearing tight latex flogging free stuff at trade stands.. sheild the young ones eyes...

About 5 or 6 years ago it was a great show, now its turned a bit too 'max power' for my liking.

Tuning does not consist of alloys and stereos, but due to the shows popularity thats the type of thing thats taken over.

But saying that, yes the ladies in lycra are worth the visit

I was at it the last two years and was very impressed.
Can't make it this year due to a cricket tour to Barbados (life is rough!).
We were there on the press/industry days and it was great - live arena very good - and it really did take two days to get around the thing. Also some decent deals on offer (I got a full MSA stickered helmet for £50!).
Enjoy yourself
Ali

agree entirely with the comments above, and agree its still worth going as it is the only show that really covers everything in motorsport.

Try and get to the oval action arena if you can, see the big grassers display rather than the smaller ones at the other shows..

Go on the trade day if you can wangle it, more serious stuff on display that isn't there for the public days.

I'm going on the friday, I've been going since it was "the racing car show". The last time I went on a "public" day it was heaving.

You get the engineering (F1 etc) on the trade days and the Pistonheads show on the friday too.

Cheers

Chris

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!
