Learn the Didgeridoo.
Cheap starter is a bit of 32 or 38mm plastic waste water pipe from B&Q for £2.95 for 2 metres.
Cut to about 51" and sand / de-bur the mouth end.
Learn to play it.
Its VERY relaxing
Its Unusual
Its Different
It will annoy the F**k out of people who dont like it.
It takes up No space whatsoever.
There is a small but very good Didge Scene in the UK with several festivals (usually 20-200 people) a year. Mostly very friendly types. Even if they
are a bit laid back etc.
Try to aviod buying a "fairtrade" didge. Best to buy a UK Split didge, may not be authentic, but they are usually a lot better than the
Indonesian imports, that are not very good. Guess how I know!
Termite Eaten / Bored Austrailian wood ones will cost more like £100+.
Start with a bit of plastic Pipe, its cheap as chips and will give you hours of relaxing fun.
Search YouTube for Colin's Didge lessons. they will help a lot, especially with the circular breathing.
Start here. Cloin is a leading Light in the UK, and very knowlegable.

Above all have fun.
Oh top tip... DONT try too hard, Dont use too much pressure / breath... Above all RELAX...and have FUN!
EDIT:
Also look at this site. there is some useful tips and info in the Rythms pages.
http://www.baydidge.com/
They are a good bunch even if they are a long way away. Been to their summer camp, at a Stone Circle in Yorkshire.
Excellent fun weekend for next to nothing... Very Locost types!

Second on the Didgerido, I've got one I picked up in Darwin, can play it a bit too, but haven't picked it up for years. The challenge is
the circular breathing, once you've got that, then you can really start to play.
I remember once busking down Kings Cross Underground station, sounded fantastic in the tunnels, and made myself a few quid
Or alternatively take up smoking weed and loose all sense of achievement and direction!!!

Or you could do some work you student bum......
I say that because I wish I was still a student....mmm masters in chillaxing
I spent most of my spare time as a student in breakers yards, we had 5 within 20 miles (silverlakes being one of them!) my house mate was well into
cars too so we were like pigs in sh*t....

Mr Copeland look where you've dragged this thread!!! Shame on you
I suggest you collect bellybutton fluff and invent an engine that runs on it and sell it to Locosters with a view to paying off your student loan.
By the way where does your girlfriend live?

lol a few posts up re. most time spent in breakers yards, I did that too at uni!!
We started an in-college off road race "series" where we built buggies and raced them round the college farm.
We built a mini subframe at the rear jobbie, and a bike engine spaceframe one too. The local scrappy were very helpful, and donated most of the bits
in return for free student advertising and big stickers on everything that we drove!!
Furber Bros of Child's Ercall in shropshire, Gary who runs it is an ace bloke, saw him again recently for the first time in ten years, true
motorsport fanatic!!
Anyway, if you are really stuck, can you make it over to hinckley.........we can use free labour in our restoration workshop!!
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning
