It would need to have bigger storage (32gb will be filled in a week, and I'm struggling to keep working space with the 110gb I have here), some
usb ports, if only one and a dvd slot.
Otherwise it's a little meh to me, just got a touch screen phone and I feel like a right technophobe prodding at it while it doesn't
respond.

cost of Apple
I have been a Mac User for many years now and I wholly agree that Macs are more costly. THIS HOWEVER IS TOTALLY JUSTIFIED.
Just look at the Apple product that have been developed over the years that have be ground breaking, innovative and forward thinking. This research
and development costs money which is reflected in their products. I could list Apple ground breaking products but I would just list their entire
product range.
6 years ago I bought a 17in powerbook. Its 1 inch thick and made of titainium. The screen is perfect and the battery still last long enough for me
to watch a DVD. A quick walk to PC world to check out the competition and even 6 years later the PC community cannot compete with Apple on simple
consumer egonomics. Even big companies such as Sony and Dell can't compete. Dell in a stroke of so called genius offer laptops in a choice of
colours. I have a imac over ten years ago that had a choice of colours. Mine was 'Grape'. Thats just the design of the products
ergonomics let alone the forward thinking operating system. These Windows adverts at the moment (the 8 second lesson ones) irritate me. They are
pushing functions that Apple were using 10 years ago.
Take a look at the imac. Everyone has been a beautiful piece of craftsmenship and functionality.
To me cost of Apple products is more than justified. Just look at their products.

Have you noticed how Iphones and Pads don't come with an instruction book? When I got a new Nokia 5800 about 18 months so ago it was meant to be
the next best media type phone. It came with a huge instruction book, and I never did get the email working properly.
My wife now has a Nokia 5800 and my god it looks like something from the dark ages compared to my iPhone.
The reason I love these products is that they just work, beautifully, straight out of the box, I had email set up on my iphone with no instruction
book in under 3 minutes ..... and as for the apps, there's just no comparison.
If you're not living life on the edge you're taking up too much room.

fisrt off you won't find the best PC's in PC world - they sell mass market rubbish for the most part - I don't think you could ever
call a dell cutting edge....
secondly sony laptops are rubbish - don't get me wrong, I've got loads of sony stuff that I love - but there PC's are a poor effort
in my experience

even the first ones ?
they looked the part from a distance, but i reality were unbelivable slow basic machines that you couldn't get software for - just tarted up a
bit in a coloured case - thats why I got my AMD K6-2 instead

^^^^?
Maybe the early ones but the current Imac's are far from slow machines, quicker than any other computer i've ever seen.

I guess that depend on what you've seen then
I think my i7 desktop would give most of the home user apples a good run for there money - I feel a chalange coming on
The problem I have with apples in general is they don't give you much of a choice or room for upgrades (I know this mean they can make them more
stable/reliable)
but it doesn't fit in well with my DIY / Locostbuilding way of thinking

I think the very first imacs could have been faster but then again they weren't aimed at power users. We had a suite of them delivered to my
uni and they were decent machines but not for hardcore power users. We used them for 3D rendering and model making. They seemed okay at the time.
As for the quality of them they were not up to the standard of todays Apple machines but compared to the the windows based machines they in my opinion
were utter delights. Back then the only colour you could get a PC in was 'disabled grey'.

My biggest problem with Apple is all the ones I've had access to didn't run any programs apart from a very small selection that were
expensive.
I think it would be cool to fit an Ipad into a car and put all the controls for the sterio and other non esentials on it aswell as having it for
computor stuff when you want to.
I still say the Iphone is usless because it isn't the right shape to be a phone.
My guess for the next thing is some kind of washing machine.

Apple do appear to create almost a religious fervour around Jobs and product launches. The products are very clever (a little too clever?) but always
strike me as being form over function. I was involved in the Mac market, working on ISDN cards, back when they went from NuBus Macs to PCI Macs.

Two screws and a connector!
Do you have a 2G iphone? I have repaired a few of these, and to say that taking them apart is difficult would be masterful understatement. It's
probably the single most difficult piece of consumer equipment I have ever dismantled(and I've repaired a lot of stuff), and they never go back
together very well.
