Hand warmers at Aldi

I've seen a few mentions of the cold on here the last couple of days. So thought these might come in handy. They're only £1.50 for a pair.

Don't panic there's lots of more suitable designs, but be quick or you'll be stuck with Dolphins!

Inside each gel pocket is a small spring clicker. When you click it the gel starts to crystalize and heats to 55'c for up to an hour. I've no idea how it works but they're re-usable 1000 times. All you have to do is boil for 10mins and it goes back to gel ready to go again once it cools.

i've got them - not sure about an hours warmth but they do get very warm and are quite good. Issue i had is i got them for skiing. By the time i wanted to warm my hands up the clicker thing had already been accidentally triggered and they where useless.

To be honest I'd say more like 1/2 an hour, but I was just quoting the packet. Any shock wave can trigger them, so it depends how good your skiing is. They're good for holding when you need to warm your hands but too bulky to put in your gloves.

For skiing I'd use the none re-usable "tea-bag" type ones. Just open the packet, give them a shake and drop them in your gloves. They're a bit slow to start working at altitude but fit in you gloves ok and can be left in while you ski.
