Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the
error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

google sketchup will probably be your best bet.
prodesktop is basic but very restrictive, if you want something better your in the relms of autocad or solidworks. ive heard there is cracked copys,
but i got an original so never looked.

Yeah for 3d sketchup wins hands down.
I use autocad for 2d architectural work, but still use sketchup to produce 3d mockups to see if things work (stairs, roofs etc etc)

Sketchup is great. I've done several models. One model was of my daughters attic bedroom when I rebuilt it. I know where all the joists and
plasterboard joins are
