LOGIC - you thought that was hard?!?
Heres one, fresh from the pages of New Scientist...
and before you ask, i havent worked it out myself yet... This is how it goes:
It was a dark and stormy night when the disciples took Jesus for a birthday boat trip on galilee. He set them a puzzle, which went as follows:
"It was a dark and stormy night when Caiaphas set the priests a puzzle, which goes as follows:
" ' It was a dark and stormy night when Pilate set the guards a puzzle, which went as follows:
" ' "I want you to tell me how many camels are in Caesar's stables. I will tell you the sum of all the positive integers which
divide exactky into the answer."
" 'He told them, and they worked out the answer. Now I, Caiaphas, want you to tell me how many camels are in the stable. I will tell you
the result of multiplying the answer minus ten by the answer.'
"He told them and they worked out the answer. Now I, Jesus, want you to tell me how many camels are in the stable. I will tell you the remainder
when the answer is divided by 8."
He told them, and they worked out the correct answer. Now, everyone knows there is between 1 and 13 camels in Caesar's stables.
But how many are there?

nice one mark, those were 2 of my 4 answers. Any reason its not 5 or 13?
also, have people assumed that, with the remainder from 8 bit, that the answer cant be negative? ie 5 camels would give an answer of -3? i cant
decide! that would take me to 3 answers...

i think the answer has to be even does it not?
cant be 5 I agree with you there, also the question suggests there is a positive remainder when divided by 8, meaning there are greater than (or equal
to) 8 camels..
any further than that?
I'm thinkin
in fact i retract the above, doesnt have to be even.
