Did they... as you can tell I have absolutely no interest in cricket whatsoever!

I can imagine the appeal of playing it, but watching it???

Even more boring than the Valencia F1 circuit!

Sports oldest, (127 years) most prestigious trophy.

I love it, once asked in an interview what my ideal job would be I answered 'England Batsman'

F1 is predictable, cricket twist and turns and is interesting from the first ball as long as you, unlike wor lass understand the game

I was flushed with pride to see an England team triumph. A great day.

OK. So now we have some ashes. What now? I suppose they'll have to do it all again next year? Well I say, we've won them so we'll keep them, thank you very much. We've dicided who's the best so lets not bother next year. Same for football. Once we've found out the winners, just give them all a ball each next year so we don't have to have our tellies full of half naked men hugging each other.

no we don't.

The Ashes is a Test cricket series played between England and Australia. It is one of international cricket's most celebrated rivalries and dates back to 1882. It is currently played biennially, alternately in Australia and England. Since cricket is a summer game, the venues being in opposite hemispheres means the break between series alternates between 18 and 30 months. A series of "The Ashes" usually comprises five Test matches (the number of matches has varied from 1 to 7, but is now generally expected to be 5), two innings per match, under the regular rules for international Test-match cricket. If a series is drawn then the country already holding the Ashes retains them.

... but woo bloody hoo ...not a big fan myself but with all the stick the England cricket team have been getting recenlty, it is nice to see a somewhat unexpected success!!!
