Camping fridge not working, any idea's

Hi All

We have been using our fridge (rm4270) on 240v all this year except now !
as it does not work now
it does work on gas
it does not seem to have ever worked on 12v (not that we have tried )
the green 240 v light, on the fridge is on

any idea's before it goes back to the dealers for me to spend way to much money on possibly something very basic

regards

Steve

My grandfather used to take his fridge out and carefully roll it upside down every now and again. He claimed it helped the coolant somehow?

Aha - He wasn't mad it must have been an ammonia water heat syphon type.

Electric heating element gone? Can you feel any heat when it's turned on coming from the rear jacket?

I have a caravan, my local auto aircon guy told me to take the frige out once a year and shake it like a maracca and put it back. The refrigerant is a powder/ gas stuff which needs agitating.

I have done as he says and the (19 year old) unit works like a new one.
