Anyone been to La Coruna? Driven there?

As many of you know I'm rather a fan of Savate kickboxing

Vid

I'm on the British team this year for the European Championships.

Sadly the easily accessible Belgian event has been cancelled and it's now being held in La Coruna in Spain in mid-November.

The question is, how to get 7 or so people down there as quickly and cheaply as possible for a Wednesday to Sunday/Monday.

Discussing it with my coach today after training we were wondering about hiring a people carrier/mini-bus type thing.

Anyone driven there? It's a damn long way!

Or is it better to fly (to Santander?) and then hire a car to get the rest of the way?

Any relevent thoughts greatfully received!

Cheers,
James

Sounds like a journey from hell to be honest.
Well from here it would be anyway.

How about Stansted to Santiago for £50 a head including all of the fees with Ryanair ?
Just checked and that's the cost in mid November.

I drove to Valancia a couple of years ago, same sort of distance takes 24 hours from catching the boat.

French & spanish roads are really good, you can go dual carriageway or better all the way to Bilbao, the leagacy of the EU grant system, we paid for them and do not invest in our own!

its just boring, better to get the plane.

Once, a good few years ago, I used train from La Coruna to Madrid and flew back.

I got storm bound there on a yacht delivery from Majorca to the Clyde coast and spent 3 days drinking in the sun. Nice place to spend time when you've no pressures, no idea on transport however!!

Ok, thanks everyone.

I'd been told it was going to cost £250 to fly there so that's why I wasn't keen.

but this morning my coach sent me details of £90 return flights so we'll look into that more.

Thanks!

James
