BSA Motorbike

Father has a 1970 registered BSA B25 Fleetstar in blue and chrome.

Anyone know what "fleet" this livery was used on.
Police, water board.....anyone know before we go and dig it out of the shed looking for frame numbers.

Just noticed the B25 fleetstar had lowered comp ratio at 8:1 Not sure the classic bike Gods would like me strapping forced induction on though

Two of my uncles have 20 BSAs between them, if nobody has answered by the time I get home this evening i could give them a ring. They're very knowledgable about BSAs, they could probably tell you how your BSA is feeling.

Liam

One of my customers restores old bikes, he's an Ariel man, but I know he's doing a BSA at the moment.

If no joy above give me a u2u and I'll give him a shout, he's a top man.

Nice bikes them, C15 engine was much more relaible than the B25, but otherwise same.
I assume blue would be Pole ice?, though I had a black and white ex police C15!
Frame numbers and BSA club for confirmation

Mate of mine (who has no mechanical knowledge whatsoever) used to have a Starfire -similar?.

I had to rebuild the engine for him about once a year. It was a very highly stressed engine producing about 25BHP from its 250cc which was pretty good, but I always felt the materials used weren't really up to the job, it leaked all the time no matter what I did and kept breaking.

it handled very well though

Cheers

Mark

Yes, Starfire is the B25 to which I refer, tuned badly.

Now take the Royal Enfield (RE)250, that was a winner.
Of course I may be biased.....
