Visit to MK & Peak District

Just got back from a small trip together with dwveto to visit MK and the peak district. We took the plane from Charleroi (Belgium) and flew to Manchester where we hired a car.
Our first destination was Sheffield and our drive trough the Peak District was great. Although the the "Bike crash zone" signs were pretty scary.

Second day of our trip was a visit to MK. I suspected it would be a small factory, but it fact it was veeery small and I must say: Phil and Baz were very friendly and helpful. They showed us around in their workshop where they were building 2 Hayabusa Turbo Indy R's for a Spanish customer.

Their electrician also took dwveto and me out for a spin in a Honda S2000 powered Indy R which was mind blowing. During the short drive I almost lost all of my hair and my eyeballs were pushed back into my head.

Before we arrived to MK, we were almost certain in building a CEC, but Phil talked us more in building a BEC. The MK R looks like a very nice and decent kit to us (especially with the full 50mm roll cage) but now we're back in doubt between CEC and BEC.

The rest of our holiday we spent hiking and driving on the nice Peak District roads visiting Hope, Castleton,Chesterfield and some hall's (Chatsworth, Haddon etc).

Conclusion of our visit: very nice area and friendly people but now we are in doubt AGAIN between CEC and BEC...CRAP !!!

You saw our Crooked Spire then We went over Blackshaw moor to Leek camping and had a nice look round Tittesworth reservoir. Haddon Hall is one of our favourites for a look around, a real piece of history and nearly on the doorstep. Hardwick Hall is a nice day out and Bolsover Castle next time you visit.

I don't think it makes much difference.

What stops me from using my car [when I have the time] is the weather. I don't think I would use it any less if it had a bike engine in it.

Actually, my main concern is that a BEC won't hold for 10.000's of miles as it isn't designed to power a 500kg car. As were a CEC is designed to power a car that is 2 or 3 times heavier than a kitcar.
