2 year suspended ban for Renault F1

Appropriately harsh sentence?
Personally think it seems a bit light after what happened to Mclaren for spy-gate!

I'm personally disgusted with the whole affair!
I was living in my naive bubble thinking that the teams would 'stretch' the rules where they could 'get away with it' but in
my mind, that has an implied spirit to it!
This is just blatant, ignorant and disgraceful!
It seems the main perpetrators have received their comeuppance and are effectively excluded from FIA sport!
You only live once - make the most of it!

Cheating with special parts is one thing, crashing is simply not on, bits of debris flying around results in someone getting hurt.
I bet Renualt knew nothing about this so have been tarnished.
There is simply to much money in the sport.

Bits of carbon on a race track after an avoidable incident combined with cars going at reduced pace following the safety car.
It's a recipe for disaster and whoever sanctions such a potentially disastrous chain of events deserves time in the slammer.
It's criminal proceedings which should be considered right now and the FIA isn't a high enough court IMHO.

Joking apart, I can absolutely see your logic... it was an incredibly stupid and dangerous thing to do. For me there doesn't have to be a
resultant injury for it still to be seen as a criminal act. The recklessness and disregard for safety of the act alone is enough!

Far too lenient. Stupidly dangerous way to cheat. I guess they were just worried that Renault would pull their team and engines if the punishment was
too severe. Personally I think Alonso must have either been in the know or told not to ask questions about his unfeasably short first stint....Just
feel sorry for Massa - he would have been World Champ last year if it wasn't for this...

Am I the only cynical one here thinking it's Bernie and Max getting rid of the head of FOTA that caused so many issues and trying to get a
certain renault driver into a red car?
Either way, Formula Farce lost its interest year ago for me

Pat Symonds said when interviewed by the FIA that it was Piquet jnr's idea ---- Pat Symonds was offered immunity but didn't take ---
Pat Symonds of all those involved in the case is the most likely to be telling something resembling the truth.
What this is really all about is Max wanted Flav's head on a splke to mount beside Ron's so much he was willing to let the Piquet jnr go
unpunished.
Max wanted to fix Flav for good before he left office (?) he dosen't care about punishing Renault Piquet or anybody else.
Pat Symonds was in the target zone so got hit because he didn't point the finger at Flav. Pat like anybody anybody with the job title engineer
is never normally important enough to come up on the Mosley radar
Although a lot of people suspected at the time the whole thing would never have come to light if Piquet snr hadn't had a major slanging match
with Piquet jnr about his non-macho life style and had Piquet jnr been a better F1 driver or grown up enough to realise we wasn't good enough to
make it.
Incidentall Flavio's son is Piquet jnr agent with 15 years left to run on the contract :-) rotf
So the Piquets get off scot free although nobody will trust jnr enough to employ him even as a janitor and a big question mark will always hang over
Alonso knowledge or otherwise of the fix.
Flavio will have to make do with his football team and I suspect Pat will very quickly find employment.

well i am outraged  and I don't evne follow or understand F1! especially when compared to Mclaren.
what if piquet had died? what if someone else had died too? attempted murder? lucky nothing bad happened but it could so easily have had a
different outcome.
'tis incredible that anyone would even contemplate something like that.
it's not circket for sure.
I doubt anyine will ever want piquet to drive for them, dangerous snitch.

That was happening regardless of this. It's just not been announced.
If anything, I would have said the possibility of Alonso being dragged into it is what's prevented Ferrari from announcing him coming to the
team 'just in case'.
It maybe why they didn't announce him coming to Ferrari at Monza the traditional place for such things.

Utter rubbish. Piquet wrecking his car on purpose for once had absolutely nothing to do with Massa taking his fuel rig for a tour of the pit lane. If
you want to blame anyone for the red cars not winning then blame that daft traffic light system that oddly enough isn't in use this year. Face
it, even with the FIA fixing the results (Spa) he still couldn't win the championship.
Odd how while everyone is aghast at someone spanking a car into a wall they're also creaming themselves at the half-chance of a driver who twice
deliberately crashed into another car making a comeback...
