I believe they are quite a good drive - Mr British Trident will know the things to look for in one I would think.

Suspention is ment to be very harsh in those cars, friend had a zr that crashed over bumps, handles well as expected.
Wonder how well it handles in the wet, could be a bit unfriendly if fwd, no tracton control and a v6 torque?

The suspension on MG models is harder and lower but the ZS (400/45) and ZR (200/25) are very different cars the bigger car rides better.
ZS is a modified Honda bodyshell, suspension is double wishbones up front and multilink suspension at the rear.
ZR uses chopped down version of the centre part of the Honda floor pan but almost every other body pressing and suspension part is different, The
ZR went back to the Rover preferred choice of suspension the strut suspension at the front and torsion a beam rear.
The 400/45/ZS are quite decent drives even with the little 1.6 and 1.8 4 pot engines they are quite nippy and corner well, the 2.5 V6 will be pretty
quick.
The only thing I don't like about them is basic design the body shell and the layout of the interior which were from a stop gap Honda model.
KV6 is a pretty reliable lump like wise the PG gearbox --- If buying one before I would try and get a look at the underside to look for places the
corrosion protection isn't doing its' job --- after buying Waxoyl as much as you can -- including brake pipe unions, abs reluctor
rings.
Suspension on these models tends to squeak and groan a bit -- not a problem.
Things to watch out for
Water loss due to a leaking thermostat (located under inlet manifold in the centre of the V), also check the radiator condition.
Variable induction system not working -- motors fail in inlet manifold --- recondition ones can be bought.
ABS not working --- usually down to corrosion of ABS rings easy to fix.
Heater fan not working on all speeds --- easy fix new resistor required.
SRS warning light illuminated --- known problem on all rovers due to bad connection under seat.
Make sure the car is given a full service including a new set of Platinum plugs and a Pollen filter.
Services intervals are
15,000 oil change only,
30,000 miles check services
60.000 Plug change, --- too long I would advise changing every 30,000 miles
90,000 miles Timing Belts ----- a fairly big job involving special tools to set the variable valve timing.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!
