diy cnc plasmer cutter

hi ive ordered the controller and the motors but has anyone on here had a go at making one. ive gotta order the steel for the cutting bed and make the post for the gun travel but iam still not sure what to use linear bearing or just make some sort of bearing slide myself on the cheap, any ideas.

Supported rails for the X axis and 20mm rails for the Y axis. Rails and bearings is one area that its worth spending money on.

I have looked at building bearing slides and
in the end i machined some brass collars (pressed into ali plate) to slide on a lubed 1.75" CDS tube i had laying around.

worked really well and cost very little.

Edit
Should add, i cut an oil groove in the centre of the bearing and drilled through to it. I fed it with the old drip cups from my myford
