Hey there - has anyone built their own garage?

Haha, indeed!!

Depends how you define garage, are you after twi skin brick walls, insluated slab, and a tiled roof afaire. Or a load of 3*2 and plywood?

My one tip/comment would be to build it big enough. Its a lot easier to put the wall in the right place now than later. The rents built a double garage and made it an extra 8ft deep. But still went with the arctects suggestion of standard sized doors (larger of the two standard) and its that tight you hjave the wind the wing mirrors of the 806 in for it to fit. The rear bumper of A4 has already met the central piller once that i know off.

I am going to, DIY. It will be brick cavitation walls, insulated. Insulated roof with roof tiles. 100 sq. m. (8 x 12 m). But the local government is not cooperating....

DIY'ing your own garage can as difficult as you want, depending your needs.

I built mine single handed (well the wife did a bit of mixing for me ) from 4" concrete blocks on a concrete floor with a Wickes corrugated sheet roof. 21'x14' with two windows and a double door it cost £800 for the materials. If you work out all you need at once and buy and get it delivered in one hit you will save, Jackson Shipley were my cheapest but if you have someone local to play them against you may knock a bit more off.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.
