Selling specialist/performance cars

I'm trying to sell my Lotus Esprit to fund a kit car but not having much luck. I've always had performance cars before and it has always taken a very long time to sell them. I know it's the wrong time of year and money is a bit tight but where should i advertise it? It's on pistonheads at the moment but so far i've had nothing.

Worth keeping it on PH IMHO, but certainly wouldn't bother with eBay.

Are their any specialist magazines or dealers which might be able to provide more exposure?

WOW, that is a really nice looking car!

Fancy swapping it for my Luego?

I had mine listed on Pistonheads - I found I was getting a lot of interest, people making me offers on the phone and then never even turning up to look at the car! I think the market just isn't right at the moment but if you perceiver the right buyer will come along.

Good Luck with the sale.

I've never really been one for waffle and I think you've written a good advert, but it's a little soul-less and I think your advert would benefit from more photos and (if you can do them at this time of the year) in a better location if that's possible.

Hope you don't think I'm telling you what's what with selling car's - I'm the last person that should do that, but just trying to offer some constructive advice.

I live local to Oulton Park, so I drove there to take photos of my KC for sale last year...

Thanks for the coments. I know what you mean about soul-less, i'm crap at writing adverts, any sugestions? I thought the location was pretty good, best i can do atm considering the weather. I would put more pics on but you are only allowed 3 now unless you pay for a premium advert, might just do that at the end of the month. I'll try Autotrader although i have never had much luck selling on there and only get the Nigerian phishermen scum.

Aghhhh, this is driving me mad. Over the last week i've had 3 people all wanting to come and look (the last one even said he went to the bank to order the cash) but when i comes to it they never turn up or even bother to let me know the're not coming. Will someone please just buy my car so i can get building.

Stick it on for 99p and it will go for "it's" price...

It'll be a complete PITA, and I'm going to have to do the same with a Yamaha R6 in a month or so, but it's the way it is nowadays... (I hate ebay and paypal with a passion!)

No chance i'm doing that! I put my Marin bike on for 99p once and only got £40, won't be doing that again.
