OT: WEE controller?
Anyone know how the wee controlers work?
I basically want to put the WEE behind the players and project over their heads onto a large screen.... Will the controlers still work? Or does the
wee and TV need to be infront of the people for it to be able to work out what the controlers are doing?

Would the last person who leaves the country please switch off the lights and close the door!

so long as the Wii motion bar is infront of them and central;ised to the image then it shouls work ok.

Pointing system works by an infra red sensor (has a failry long lead with it) that needs to be centralised and either directly above or below the
image (i.e. tv or projection). The gyroscopic functions however I believe are transmitted via rf and so should be ok to not have line-of-sight to the
base unit. HTH

the movement of a cursor on screen is done by the wiimote recieving light from 2 infra red led's in the bar you put ontop, or below your screen.
the wire from the bar to your Wii is only for power. you can buy 3rd party replacements which are battery power, so no need to run a cable back to the
wii.
the rest of the functions on the wiimote connect to your wii via bluetooth, so it doesnt matter where you have your console

for what it is worth they use Bluetooth to communicate. They include gyroscopes and also a little infra-red camera that sends back the position of
infrared dots to the main unit.
Some interesting things on the web for making the controller do other things.
wii nerd stuff

Probably discussed above, but I can't be arsed to read!
You can get a wireless sensor bar to place in front of you below the screen - so the Wii itself can go behind you.
I use a projector with mine, but I use a wireless video sender, so all the tech is in front of me except the projector itself.
The biggest problem is that to play Wii games you generally stand up - so the picture is helpfully projected on the back of your head unless you stand
well back, but when you do that the signal to the sensor isn't so good!

Yes, most of its done with g sensors and gyros. But as long as the bars infront where it should be, and the box isnt silly miles away for the
bluetooth fails, game on.
