Any structural engineers on here?
The building inspector has come round today to look at a test pit for an extension we're having rebuilt. He says architects drawings of the
foundations are not good enough, he wants a structural engineer to do some calculations first. I don't know if you'll need to do a site
visit or whether just the drawings are enough to work from but I'm happy to offer the job to a locoster before picking a name at random from the
yellow pages.

IIRC the inspector is asking whether the soil/ sub-strata you are going to drop the foundations on is strong enough.
They need to do a soil test to provide him with results so a site visit is required.
HTH.

Drop me a PM and I'll point you in the right direction. I have a couple of geotechnical engineers that can probably sort you out. Where are
you?
