Dont you just fill in a V62? Also have a look at the V10 in case that covers your situation.

Did you say you have bought the van and sent the V5 away? Normally last owner sends the V5 away and you get the new keeper supplement. Tis is your V5
and you can get tax out with that possibly if you fill in a V62.

hang on till end of the month, DVLA have been very quick in my case, sending out my V5 in less than 2 weeks.
A pint for the gent and a white wine/fruit based drink for the lady. Those are the rules

LOL. Thats the New Keepers Supplement that says on it that it can be used to obtain a Vehicle Excise Licence. Whoops!!
As said though - DVLA are actually pretty efficient so as long as the seller actually sent it off then you should get the V5 back after a week or so.

Can't tax it without the green slip or complete v5. So there's not much you can do till it comes back anyway

Your one of the lucky ones then, getting the logbook back on the cossie took a month - they even wrote to me to let me know they'd recieved it
and the timescale of them sending out the new one.
They are quick enough when it comes to asking for £25 for a replacement/no V5 etc or missed sorn declaration (so I've heard)
Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
