OT - replacing Le Creuset saucepan handle
Has anyone on here replaced the wooden handle on a Le Creuset sauce pan?
There is a cast iron end bit with a loop for hanging that almost certainly unscrew but does that normally rust solid into the cast iron lug on the
pan?
And can attempting to unscrew the handle break either part?
Impossible to get any penetrating oil without trashing the wooden handle.
for example:

God, the things people ask on this forum....
Just checked.
On ours the hanging loop screws into a stud about 4 or 5 mm dia.
Unscrewing this lets you remove the wooden part.
This stud screws into the pan.
And yes I would think it woukld break if too much force was put on it.

as you are replacing the wooden bit anyway, I would cut that off to expose the bit you need to see so that you can get it apart with penetrating oil
or a bit of heat.
"That thing you're thinking - it wont be that."

hmmm, dunno about that but i'd be surprised if any manufacture would guarantee a wooden handle that is place over flame or other heat source.
at least ^^^ explained how it is possible to align the loops.
will have a go later.
