I had an idea to keep it going... at the moment it's technically a toll road and gets to carry on via that loophole...

If it got closed down then change it to a drive-through. You have to place your order at the barrier and drive 20km to pick it up

I personal don't think it will be closed very soon. On the highway you can also still drive as fast as you like.

But I would consider a warningsystem to prefent more accidents.

you cannot close the ring cause of one bad crash. These things are ALWAYS going to happen, though maybe some sorta flag system would be good...

Make everyone rent a 2 way radio system.

BTW, you can't drive at whatever speed you want on every road - only on certain highways. I thing the Ring is great, because everyone knows the risks, but the unlimited Autobahn speed thing is completely and utterly stupid. When they crash, they take out 100 cars at a time sometimes. Dying young in a car crash used to be a normal thing in Germany. That isn't normal at all. It's wrong and immoral.

What is interesting from the video is that it was not a normal TF day as you cannot go straight though past the entrance like that on a TF day (your not allowed to use video equipment on a Tourist day either). Which means it was an organised trackday....total chaos on the straight though, they should have and could have flagged people down on the straight and pulled then off the track.

If it was a German car/National it will be covered on his/her insurance as the ring is considered a public highway for Nationals
