SIM card swapping
If I have 2 nokia handsets, and theyre both new enough to be compatible with the latest version of PC suite, will I have any problems regularly moving
the SIM from one to the other? (duplicated contacts, lost info and hassle?)

It depends how you do it. I swapped my SIM with the Mrs for a weekend in europe, and now both of our phones are a mish-mash of both sets of contacts.

Indeed, Ive had this before and I'm wary of it, but if I added the contacts to the phones from PC suite and they were always the same....

Can you save the contacts to the Sim Card rather than the phones address book?
This is usually possible, but the quantity of entries is usually limited on the Sim Card.

Think I have too many for that, hence trying to make the phones as similar as poss and not have anything in the sim if possible.

as above you can just save the contact to the SIM and use that
you could setup the sync. on PC suite to copy all your contacts etc onto the PC from each phone and vice versa
(I think it copys it to MS outlook on the PC)
but I've got to ask why ?

I know what you mean....
(I got a N86 instead, battery lasts longer and it still does most things just without the big touch screen)
PC suite should sort you out, I've never used the sync. thing much but I use the backup one every now and then to do the same as what your after
(mainly when I get a new phone/firmware)
in fact I've been doing that since 2003 without any issues (as long as you remeber to make the backup of course )
you could try putting the main/important contacts on the SIM so you've always got them
(but you can only have 1 number under each contact on the SIM)

Ive used the sync to pc function and the backup fairly regularly, and Ive checked that the two phones I want to use are compatible with the same
version of pc suite. I was just curious if anyone had tried it with any success?

Yep, no problem at all, nokia is one of the few that you can do it with, just use pcsuite import from one phone, check your contacts in pcsuite and
re-sync with the second phone.
You don't need to bother with outlook at all.
