Well that explains it then, i told them i was honest, reliable and hard working. I obviously didnt fit the profile.
Bloody mad isnt it. When im ready to employ people ill bear this in mind and request trainer wearing shell suited less than fantastic tosseurs apply,
should be plenty to choose from.

What surprised me in our local Jobcentre was the pair of hefty big blokes in tidy jackets & ties who were walking about. Officially they were
'customer assistants' and spent a fair amount of time ushering people around - but it was quite apparent that they were bouncers.
Looking at some of the people in there, I'd say that their presence was very necessary...

That would be brilliant for me, fat, couldn't give a toss and not really bothered what time I get up. When do I start?

Here's another one that really p!sses me off
link
With the amount of useless dossers about - personally i'm all for seeing the gap increase further and further. Seems the rulers of this country
want to drag down those who work hard and are successful. Maybe schools should be pointing this difference out as why kids should work hard at school
etc.
The last paragraph pretty much sums up the stupidity of the report - do they not realise what sort of jobs women generally do part time?? Around here
they are checkout operators, shop assistants, bar and restaurant staff etc - not your "average" paying job!!

My wife works in recruitment, and when she places an ad via the job centre, she is honestly told stuff like in that article.
She was bollocked the other day for suggesting that it wouldn't be entirely appropriate for 6month + pregnant lady to go to temp work in a
factory where ALL they do as work is heavy manual handling... (not joking!)

No it wouldn't be entirely appropriate, it would be highly f**king illegal!
I should put out an advert asking for lazy, sloppy people (and put her ex's phone number on it )

A few years back I went to advertise for a position I had available with the job centre
I wrote my advert out and sent it over, it was pretty simple, something like
hard working individual required for growing company blah blah blah
I was told I couldn't use hard working as it discriminated against lazy people, I told them to stick it up their arse and put it in the paper!

Having said all this would lazy people apply?
Last time I went in the job centre I ended up asking for a job teaching those touch screen things where the UK is.
Get a map, stick a pin in it and I can guarantee that if you look within a 20 mile radius you will not find STUTTGART.
And they acted all surprised the 8th year I told them about it

So, when I sign on Friday and tell them I'm honest, reliable and NOT looking for work will that leave them obliged not to tell me I'm not
doing enough to look for work? Or, should I point out they have done NOTHING to help me back into work??
Thats the honest truth it is ...

First time I was unemployed I went through all the jobs I could do, then all the jobs I couldn't.. They were happy when I explained that the
reason I was applying for regional sales manager (which required more qualifications and experience than I even have now) was that it was all that was
left...

Maybe we should employ the USA model - give people enough benefit so that they and their family don't starve, but if they're offered a
reasonable job and don't take it (or get chucked out) then benefits stop.
Morally I find that repugnant... but the alternative just isn't working.

The whole Political Correctness issue is getting out of hand. I had to do a self appraisal at work a few days ago, using an on-line system. When
submitted it does a spell check (which is fair enough) and then checks for non-PC terms. It highlighted a phrase "short program
time-scales" and rejected it as it was apparently discriminatory against short people! Barking mad.
