Day out in Kent?
Dropping SWMBO off at Sissinghurst on Monday for a day course.
That leaves me at a loose end so any (polite) suggestions as to how I can fill the day?
Brands is a bit far as is Raldes.
Are there any car/bike/plane museums locally?
Thanks, Pewe

There is an RAF museum in Hawkinge a bit further down the road - but it's shut until easter. National Trust sites are all you're going to
get in Sissinghurst. That and a few very nice pubs. You could always shoot over to BGH geartech - they are close by!

Depending on your interests (apart from cars, presumably...) there is Bodiam Castle (10 miles from Sissinghurst), Rye (17 miles), etc.

Hastings? Dover Castle is a bit far and would take at least a full day to see all of it.

If you do eventually go there's a small motor museum at Rolvenden called C.M.Booth Motor Museum which is only 5 miles from Sissinghurst.
They've an interesting collection of Morgans but you better check the opening times.
John.

Car Builder Solutions in Staplehurst, Bentley Motor and Wildfowl museum just south of Uckfield, Headcorn (Lashenden) airfield has small museum and
quite active flightline.
There's also Bewl Water or Bedgbury Forest/Pinetum if you want to walk (or take a mountain bike and go on the single track at Bedgebury).

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
As it turned out I was stuck at the venue due to heavy snow for the duration (not a hint from the bl**dy forecasters).
Think it was about 2" but it made climbing the hill into Goudhurst and then dropping down the other side interesting to say the least. Just a
good job we didn't go in the F27 which would have been my preference!
Will keep the places of interest in mind for the next time. Cheers, Pewe
