My new summer toy....
I thought some of you may be a bit interested....
No its not a Locost unfortunatley...but it should still be good fun
Radio controlled nitro monster truck. Its a bit mad, its huge (540m long, 420mm wide and 240mm high), and it will do some tricks . I got a bit bored
of my little touring car
[edit] there should have been a video here...
Cheers,
David

Nice, but the person driving in the vid seems a bit lame, and I've seen a much better one of a similar vehicle with them pulling huge jumps.
I've had to take a bit of a sebatical from my RC hobby of choice - helis, because they're just too expensive and time consuming to do
while building the car, hopefully I'll be able to go back to them once I've completed the car, although the cost is still crazy (15 or 30%
nitro fuel cost a fortune and a good crash, even with a cheap heli will cost well into the hundreds, and totalling a really nice heli would put you
back thousands).

I know the downloadable vid is a bit lame, but the one i wanted to attach was too big. The linked one is a bit better.
I am into cars and boats. Flying would be too expensive for me! I have around 5 boats, 2 of which i have scratch built (one of those is a power boat).
I am currently working on a professional style racing boat which should be good for 50mph on the water.
Cheers,
David
(PS anyone else into RC Models?)

i got a scrap/spares/repairs nitro car in the kitchen cupboard, its going on ebay soon with no reserve.
no body shell, no controller, two springs missing, bald tyres, no thingy to start it with, no pull cord (it snapped), soaked in goo of some sort, and
a few vanes on the engine are bent/broken. all in all, a good find. why the hell did i ever buy it you may ask? i certainly ask myself that often
enough.
whats it worth to anyone who knows these things? i paid something around £20 i think.

The goo is probably old nitro fuel and is a bitch to get off.
How much its worth depends on what car it is and if someone wants the spares or not Someone will want it no doubt.

I got a flourescent pink nitro sand rail.
Short lived fun when playing on your own.
I reckon the nitro is so expensive 'cos you can treat it to produce nitro methanol to mix with your ammonia nitrate/black powder to prduce
extremely powerful exploives....

Well you can buy pure nitro methanol from the model shops....or you used to be able to, so you can mix your own fuel up.

I believe it's also what's used by top fuel drag cars and bikes.
