And I doubt very much it was razor sharp. I have one thats as blunt as a very blunt thing, no way will it cut paper. But, give it a good swing into
someones head and I think it could dispose of an ear. A bike chain is blunt, but could do the same thing. So to quote it as being a dangerous razor
sharp weapon is very wrong. Perhaps the razor sharp spade and the knuckle-duster made of depleted uranium were not reported in the same way. Poor
helpless criminal high on drugs didn't go very well equiped did he?

Shame he missed the juggular really would have been one less scumbag! Unfortunately i doubt that would have gone down as self defence.
Re the choice of weapon, what was he supposed to do, say "hang on there a sec, I'm just going to the shed for a not too sharp

Interesting that they say the sword is a 'battlefield weapon' - I seem to remember that the SAS, who can have pretty much whatever
equipment they want, recon a sharpened spade is the weapon of choice if you have to go into a trench crowded with 'opponents', so the bad
guy was probably better armed!

In the trenches in WWI the spade was the weapon most used for close combat. A friend of mine was charged for a similar thing about 30 years ago when a
man who suspected he was knocking his girlfriend off came to "visit" him. He sconed him with the flat of an ornamental broadsword which
the police confiscated and later returned to him. The scrote didn't have a lug to stand on

What interests me is how the court system usualy manages to convince the jury to come to a guilty verdict on householders defending their families.
We are probably a fairly representative bunch and think we would vote not guilty, yet time after time it goes the other way.
Most countries work on the basis of the raider loosing all rights the moment he breaks in and the householder is entitled by right to blow him away
just for being there!

For £200 per hour I'd imagine we'd all do it. Must cause some physical problems later in life, stomach ulcers and that kind of thing
