Sky+ Text

As normal, my Sky box is playing up (like they all do!)

I get the red button box comes up in the top right of the screen on BBC1 for example, but when I press it, it just says 'please wait' then goes back to 'press red'. Text works fine on BBC on the digital but on Sky for some reason it doesn't want to play.

It's doin' me 'ed in!!

Anyone else had/have this problem?

BTW, it's Sky HD+

JB

I presume you have powered the box off and back on (by pulling the power cord at the back)?

Yep, done all the good stuff that is everyday 'servicing' for the damn Sky equipment!

Can't do a software download 'cos it needs an engineer's PIN.

You can do a software download by switching off at the wall, hold backup on the box, turn thebox on still holding backup. You will eventually see a message about updating system software.

Leave for half hour or so, and it will restart.

Do a search of the interweb and you'll see other posts about this.

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

An engineers pin or an incident number?

The incident number can be bypassed.

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

One of its uses was going to be watching sky content on the PSP by downloading to view at your leisure on the move etc.

My sky+ doesn't even have the 5v on the usb port enabled so I can't even charge my phone on it

You're right, it asks for an incident number, then it asks for an access code (PIN). So how do you bypass it then?
