Motorized Bicycle , How To Register In UK?

Fancy one of these kits for my bike.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/60cc-Bicycle-Motor-Kit-GAS-Engine-RAW-Motor-Scooter-FS_W0QQitemZ320507451605QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4a9fb b98d5

Does anyone have any experience of these ,and the process for registration?

Dave, I think I'd want to see a picture of it actually installed in a bike first, there certainly isn't one on that Ebay ad .....

Yeah But!!!

Whatever the make of engine, I was wondering if anyone had any info on the testing and registration process, I believe it has to be registered as a moped.

Looking at the kit ,I,d be more worried in the first place how it all goes together.
Does the engine drive the rear wheel? does the only sproket fix onto rear wheel and how? if it does, how does it all line up?
Some of the old bikes with engines have reg plates so there must be a way.
Info on DVLA
“Motorbicycle” includes a two wheeled motor scooter, a bicycle with an attachment for propelling it by mechanical power and a motorbicycle to which a side-car is attached.
Its a Taxation class so must be more info available.

The typical idiocy of Europe/UK. Someone adding a motor to a pushbike has to fit a speedo, cover "sharp" edges, register the vehicle, pay road tax and take out insurance, etc., yet someone pedalling a bike without a motor could well be going faster and carrying just as much mass - go figure!

Get a couple of 1000 watt hub motors and some painniers (to hide batteries) and away you go.

2.6hp and 21 hp/tonne. On a bicycle
