Where to buy a record deck.
Mines packed up, I think I know whats wrong with it but one of the 4 screws holding it to the unit won't budge so I can't get inside.
Wheres the best place to go for a new one?
Had a quick look online but not having much luck.

htfr.co.uk have quite a big range, from top range technics, down to cheap unbranded ones with usb outs in them

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Depends on how Hi-Fi you want it. Asda are doing a USB one (under £60 IIRC).
It looks like the Midget is winning at the moment......

Thanks for the replies, I might just have to look at asda.
It to replace a 1985 sony xo-D10CD so it doesn't have to be all that great.

how much you are looking to spend?
you can buy £ 50 toy deck, usb, does the job. e.g. Maplin or spend thousands on a Michel Orbe.
Regar Planar 2, then 3 was very simple but good quality deck, offering very good performance for the money.
think going rate new is IRO £ 300 .... but £ 100ish should see some on ebay.

If you want to get it fixed I'd recommend Steve's Hifi in Hastings, I reckon there probably isnt much about hifi, how it works and what
breaks that he doesnt know...

I'm aiming to buy a cheap one, I looked on Asdas site and they had one I liked the look of for £50 (Reduced from £100) but they were sold out so
I might keep an eye out.
The record player I actually want is in a shop window in the town centre, I asked about it once and the guy said £1200 for it in perspex like the
display model, and that was just the deck, not the amp or speakers. I'll see If I can get to the shops before work and see if they've got
anything.
