Video Editing

I am trying to sort out my recordings I have moved from my Sky box to my recordable DVD/Hard disc. Problem is, when the stuff is copied from the Sky box onto the hard drive of the DVD, it copies a bulk lot and has allsorts of rubbish in between programs as well as the adverts.

Is there any freeware out there that anyone can recommend that will enable me to edit all the 'snippits' of programmes I have on the DVDs (+RWs) and create actul watchable programmes?

Ta.

DVD Shrink 3.2 can do it.
if you use the "reauthor" feature to set end frames of a title (group of chapters)
If you have your dvds copied to your hard drive you can force titles from different dvds in to reauthored dvd.

On a Sony DVD/Hard drive recorder you can drop the DVD content to the hard drive then use A/B trim to cut out the unwanted stuff and view direct from the hard drive or drop it back to DVD.

Unfortunately, I'm a tight-arse, and bought an ONN one (bad move) won't bother with ASDA's own make any more. Very limited what you can do, and to top it all, I've lost the instructions and can't find them anywhere on the 'tinterweb.
