Camping in Germany, help/advice needed!!

Right then, me and a couple of mates are planning on going to the Oktoberfest in Munich, in September.
We've looked into booking a Hotel, but the prices are, at least, 4 times the usual price during the Oktoberfest.
So we have thought about driving there and camping, so we can do it cheap and cheerful.

Does anybody on here have any experiance with camping in Germany, and know how to go about booking a site, etc...

It's basicly 3 of us in an Astra van(with a factory fit back seat) and a big tent. All we need is somewhere to sleep and get a shower.

None of us have any experiance of camping abroad, we usually get a hotel, but at £300+ per night for a basic hotel is just f%$king daft!!

Any help/advice would be great!!

Cheers Frank.

Hi,

I went to the fest a few years ago and camped, there is a site believe it or not not far from the centre of the city. Good facilities and cheap, if I remember correctly we paid 50 Euros and that was for 7 guys, a minibus and 3 tents. A short taxi ride from the site of the fest and not too far from the Hofbrauhaus. I am looking to see if I can find the address for you.

Regards

Bob

Sounds like good advice to me
