Well that didn't take long ...

Mr Laws had earlier apologised over the revelations in the Daily Telegraph, and said he would pay back the £40,000 he had claimed <-- read steal.

Shows what a complete idiot he is. Not only does he try steal 40 big ones of our money, after the expense revelations from last year, how could he possibly think he'd get away with it!!! FIRKIN IDIOT!! Good riddence.

Looks like it is the same old same old..... GGGGRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....

You've got it wrong just there. It was before the expenses thing of last year. The claims date bate to 2006.

Yes but he's played the diversity card and said that he didn't report it because he's gay! Oh and he's now apologised for it so that make it all fine
I'm sure that half of the "criminals" who get a criminal record for stealing £100 not £40000 would like to have said sorry to make it go away.
Wasn't one of their policies about sacking politicians?

He’s actually a big loss to the country, being one of the few people in government who has the brains and ability to deal with the economy.

What gets me is the power the Daily Telegraph has. They are the only people who have a full list of all the claims made by MPs and simply decide to publish info when it suits their plan.

They have now removed and discredited a Lib Dem from the coalition.

His comment of not doing it to financially gain? WTF?

Let me get this right I go to work and pay out everything to support my wife and kids.
So now it is ok to go to work and keep MY money and claim off the tax payer for my wife?
How would I not be "financially gaining"?

You say he's bright?

I heard he was doing it to keep his sexuality a secret, only by doing that he was basically advertising he was gay.

If I was in the public eye like this I'd do the same thing, and "let slip" one day that I don't want everyone to know I'm straight

Now me and the missus aren't married, we have separate friends and even different bank accounts just like him. So why could I not claim anything off the benefits office based on her income?
