thieveing gits....
.... British GAs that is ... and they would have got away with it if it wasn't for the meddling kids.
estimated Gsas Bill £ 203.07
after submitting estimated reading, Gas Bill £ 58.93
so much fir the accuracy of their trending software.
They even send me a little graph showing how much I used compared to same period last year, anyone with half a brain would figure out that since this
year has been hotter than last, then chances are the fas consumption would be a bout the same, not FOUR TIMES AS MUCH!!
idiots!!
tip for life: check yer bills, always.

Switch!
We were with EDF until recently. They were bloody useless and the bills never made sense. Overcharged us loads and only when queried did we get a £600
rebate!
My girlfriend decided to switch and we get a (predicted!) £250 saving a year and they gave us £50 cashback for switching. All she did was follow the
Money Saving Expert links:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/utilities/you-switch-gas-electricity
That's an extra Locost a year I can buy!
Cheers,
James

I have same problems with them, I had a direct debit, but having checked it and looking at the bill I saw that I was paying £87 per month for gas, my
quarterly bill was £120, so how the hell does that compute, I kicked off and stopped my direct debit as I was over £800 in credit with them, they then
sent me revised bill for a lot more as I wasnt eligible for the DD discount, so I say to restart it, but for something more realistic like £40 per
month, they say no, its the £80 odd WTF!
then got a demand and legal threats etc for £42, but Im £800 in credit, take it off that, no they say, I have to pay the bill and future bills can
come off my credit!
useless shower of shite they are!!
heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it breaks, hit them with it

I always check the meter reading, as a matter of course.
I've even rejected a meter reading done by the meter reader! At the time it was a dial meter and it had gone over from 99900 to 00100
(roughly) - he totally mis-read it and I ended up with a bill for £600-odd instead of the usual £100-odd.
The company didn't fuss about it - I guess they took my reading, compared it with the one from 12 months ago and decided that it probably
wasn't far out.
Now I've got a digital meter, which is far easier to read correctly...
I also look at the comparison sites now and again - my current gas/electric supplier (Scottish Power) isn't far off the best rate for my
circumstances, and I have found the help-desk to be helpful - and understandable (as long as you don't have a problem with Scottish accents!
)

oh dont even get me started.
i got a final bill saying i owed £0.00
which i was happy with cos i had paid up when i was changing suppliers.
anyway all fine for 2 months.
then a red letter.
You have 7 days to pay £0.00
so i called them up. they said its an error on there system but if i make a payment it will stop the letters! ermmmmm NO!
asked them to stop sending me letters.
1 week later. a debt company letter from same address as british gases last letter ( i assume they had there own debt company) anyway now i owe £0.00
plus a fee of £25 if not paid in 7 days from date of letter.
F**k this for a game of soldiers lol
Not impressed i called the number. and hey presto someone on the phone said thats wierd. (really) lol
they said they had noticed the mistake and i should discard the letter.
then guess what. a 7 day court letter turns up. for £25.
took 6 months to sort. and a mark on my credit file for a none paid bill of £0.00
they offered me £10 as an appology.
well after sending them a court letter and sending the bill to all the papers i could get an email of and cc'd the customer services director of
british gas it got sorted and i got a cheque for £800.00

If they insisted, you should have sent a cheque for £0.00 and let them try to cash it!

I had edf knock the door last week and give me some bollox about 10p for one, 3p for the other, 10 and 3, 10 and 3, that's all you kneed to
remember is 10 and 3.
He took my current monthly direct debit payment, then said switching to him would save £160 a year. I stated that despite my payments seeming high I
get a rebate of anything between £100 and £280 per annum for overpaying, after the meter is read, so really I'd be worse off with him.
He said "10 and 3 see, that's all it's about"
I said, you just took my payment ammount, figured the Kwh from it, multiplied it by your tariff and come up with a saving, but as I said, I get a
rebate, so Kwh based on my monthly payment is not accurate.
He said, yeah you'd still get the rebate, 10 and 3 innit?!
I said, you don't get this do you?
He said, well if it's allright with you i'll send you a letter about it in the next few weeks, yeah? then in a quiet voice and if
you change your mind just ring us up in the next 14 days
Change my mind about what?
He says: swapping to edf!
but I'm not going to, I'll have a think about it though. Have you got any documentation I can have a read through?
At this point all the guff he's been circling and pointing at dissapears quick smart into his satchel, and he just says, oh it's just 10
and 3, that's all you need to remember! Then he leaves.
What a comedian

I should add that I refuse to pay by direct debit, due to previous cowboys - sorry, responsible power companies - helping themselves to my cash when
I wasn't looking. Scottish Power offer a discount if I pay within a week or so (deadline delayed if I dispute the bill).
It's not quite as much discount as paying by DD, but there's not much in it.

What a comedian
EDF bloke did this to us, missus asked for the documents to take home as we don't sign anything the day we get it and he spat his dummy out. She
emailed EDF about it and they were really concerned
