Help with uPVC door hinge...

Chaps,

These pics are of our door hinges

Bottom:

Top:

As you can see, they are both at the limit of adjustment but the bottom hinge seems broken/worn out (as it seems offset).

Is it possible to repair, anyone know how to take it apart etc. Door is dragging an very difficult to lock.

Cheers

ATB

Simon

If the foot of the door is dragging at the lock side, chances are that the glass may need to be repacked. Glazed doors and opneing lights of double glazed windows need the units to be properly packed.

Try picking up the door at the lock side. If you can get any movmement upwards, you probably need to repack the DGU.

Let us know how you get on.

It could require reglazing to square the door sash. The hinge pins are usually on cams as well there is a chance that on of the pins has rotated. Remove the cops from the top of the hinges it usually adjusts with an allen key the pin is generally a cam

It looks like your hinge is worn you can get a replacement over the net and easy to replace .I have done loads of repairs on these doors its just wear on the hinge ,You might be lucky and find the screws which hold the hinge are loose.
