OT help wanted finding a lampholder
Trouble is, I'm not sure exactly what it is called. SWMBO has a table lamp which is a hollow ceramic base with a wire threaded through it and
connected to a switched lampholder on the top. The lampholder has broken and I want to replace it. It is a bit like a hanging light fitting except
that:
1. it has a switch (the bar thingy that you push through one way for on, the other for off)
2. the bottom has a hollow post about half an inch in diameter with a hole through the middle for the wire. This fits in the hole in the top of the
base.
I have googled lampholders but can't seem to find exactly what I am looking for, so I think I need a better name for it.
If anyone can tell me what they are called and/or a source, I would be grateful
TIA
Simon

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I saw those, but the plug thing is too wide to fit in the base, and the wire goes out the side rather than down the middle.

That's better, but I need something that will fix into the hole in the top of the base...

If you troll into your local elec factors like Edmundson they should be able to supply the switched fitting and a double ended threaded adaptor which
fits in the fitting and the top of the bottle.
B&Q used to do them, but that was some time ago.
At least you know what the fitting is called

OK, thanks for the help guys. I have found a picture of what I am after (though I really want just plastic rather than poncy brass...)
The stem pushes through the hole in the top of the base and the brown grippy thing is fitted from underneath to keep it in place
