Do all new jobs knock the pants out of you

Got a new job with the same company and I find Im trashed come the end of day .
Im having to use my brain and eyes inspecting stuff that has a lot of faults in it........
strange as it seems I love the job

Suppose I will get my steam up to match the output of what Im doing.

Stick with it. Sounds like you found something you like, which has a lot to be said for.

The eagerness will wear off slightly as time goes on, but remember you are an asset to the company and as you are signing installations off as safe, you should not be pressured into rushing it.

Kindest Regards,
Richard.

If you're using your eyes for this sort of thing, I think it would be expected...try having a 15 minute catnap with your eyes closed at the end of the day...you may be surprised how much just resting them for this period will help...

If a new job isn't tough, you picked the wrong job. You'll settle in in a while.

Might also be eye strain. If you can make sure the work area is well lit then it could help.
If you start getting headaches it's worth getting your eyes tested.

if you are checking pannels to paper and cross referencing between the two try and get both your work and paper the same distance away from your eyes saves lot of re-focussing

i think being in new social situations; meeting new people all the time and the like (like a new workplace) can be tiring in itself.

i do some of this with work, at trade fairs, conferences etc and despite it feeling like you havent really 'done' anything just being constantly on your toes, saying the right things and getting to know new people can be exhausting.
