Q: B uilding Regs?

Anyone clued up enough to tell me whether an ensuit bathroom needs a door or any kind of separation. Can it be left open?

Its the only thing now stopping me getting approval.

Maybe wanted: Someone who can make me a folding? door that's short with a 15 degree slope at the top?

Ta,
Steve

Can be left open (i am assuming its 3 storey house so you have a protected stairwell, and that the ensuite is in a bedroom and that bedroom has a Fire door to the stair, and the ensuite is only accessed from within that bedroom. ie no 2nd door linking the ensuite to the stairwell)

2 storey, bungalow loft conversion. Access to the bathroom is purely off the bedroom. Stairwell is accessed by a separate door.

Still no issue with 2 storey, do you have fire doors or emergency egress windows?

As far as I'm aware you could have it totally open plan if you really wanted. That would however impose restrictions on location of electrical sockets probably impossible to meet unless you have a very big loft. If i recall 3 metres from a bath etc before you can have a socket if it's the same room.

What exactly is the issue building control have?

I dont think thats the case any more, I believe the rules changed... I am fairly sure you cant just bung a shower in the corner of a room any more... It has to be in its own room with extraction... I might be wrong tho...

You would need to apply the principles below for locating electrical items:
